The Ferguson Looters, & the Armed Citizens Who Stand In Their Way
Back in August, we told you about store owners and law abiding citizens in the riot-ravaged town of Ferguson, Missouri and how they had taken up arms to protect their property and themselves.
With this past week's flare up due to the grand jury decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the shooting of Micheal Brown, the looters and the rioters were back in full force, stealing anything and everything that wasn't nailed down and setting fire to a number of businesses.
This time around, more citizens took up arms to defend hearth and home than before, even some coming from out of area to lend a hand.
According to reports, the OathKeepers, an organization of military, law enforcement, and first responders who swear to uphold their oath to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights arrived in Ferguson with an undisclosed number of volunteers, focusing on an area of South Florissant Drive which lies about 2 blocks north of the Ferguson Police Station.
Oath Keeper standing watch on a Ferguson Rooftop
They boarded up storefronts and secured buildings, and set up arm security rotations to protect the businesses and facilities, while also having fire extinguishers and water close by in case of arsonists.
The responding OathKeepers have been criticized in the media as extremists who had set upon the town to incite racist backlash, but the store owners and the citizens were more than happy to have them standing watch.
Also of note, was the group of 4 black Ferguson residents who armed themselves and went to the aid of a white store owner, and successfully kept looters from ransacking the store.
the young black men standing guard in front of a white owned business. Friendship and brotherhood knows no skin color. The 4 men stood watch over Doug Morello's Conoco station as agitators milled about the property.
They young men, who stated that Mr. Morello had helped them out throughout the years and considered him a friend of the community, were armed with handguns and an AR-15.
They had a bit of a close call when some Missouri National Guard soldiers mistook them for looters and nearly engaged them. Thankfully Mr. Morello diffused the situation and convinced the Guardsmen that they were stand-up young men, and they continued their watch over the property.
2 very different unorganized militias working to defend the citizens and property of the good folks of Ferguson. Shining the light of freedom in a dark place.
Going beyond skin color or privilege, it guarantees freedom to all people.
That's what the 2nd Amendment is all about.

Robeson Co. Grandfather Shoots Intruders, Killing One, Who Were Attempting To Rape His Granddaughter
An Armed NC, is a safe NC.
A grandfather in Robeson County NC is in the hospital after being shot multiple times by 3 men who broke into his home and attempted to rape his granddaughter, a decision that one of them paid for with their life when the armed granddad used his own weapon to defend his family. The incident began when at around 10PM on the night of October 20th, there was a knock at the door at the Lumberton residence where the grandfather shared with his wife and granddaughter (whose names have not been released).
Three men, two of which were wearing black ski masks and dark clothing, forced their way into the home, and demanded money at gunpoint. They then forced the grandfather and his wife into the back of the residence and forced him to open his safe.
That's when the men decided to rape the man's 19 year old granddaughter.
At this point, the grandfather managed to retrieve his own firearm and shot all three suspects, but was himself shot multiple times. The suspects expeditiously fled the residence, in the homeowner's Cadillac. A short time, later, the Robeson County Sheriff's Deputies were called to McLeod Hospital in Dillon, where two of the suspects had shown up with gunshot wounds .
the late Jamie Lee Faison
The 3rd suspect, 20 year old Jamie Lee Faison was found dead in the stolen Cadillac just off Singletary Church Road near Lumberton, having succumbed to the gunshot wounds.
The two other suspects, identified as Brandon Stephens and Jamar Hawkins, were airlifted to other hospitals for emergency surgery.
Robeson County deputies believe the trio are responsible for other burglaries and home invasions in the area recently.
the 2 remaining suspects, Brandon Stephens and Jamar Hawkins, a couple of real winners
Yet another case of a law abiding gun owner defending his home and his loved ones.
If he had been disarmed like so many anti-gun lunatics would have liked, his granddaughter would have been violently raped by these pieces of trash, and he and his wife would most likely have been executed right there in there own home. Just another statistic that the Elite care nothing about.
YOUR SAFETY IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Durham County Clerk of Court Shreds Jim Crow Gun Registry
Back in May, we told you about the Durham County gun registry, which was an unconstitutional holdover from the racist Jim Crow Law days, in which the county created a gun registry to keep guns out of the hands of black citizens, based solely on the color of their skin .
As of yesterday, the Clerk of Court along with the Sheriff's Office has now destroyed the gun registry in accordance with North Carolina law, and more importantly, in accordance with the Constitution and the rights of law abiding citizens.
These photos are from their Facebook page dated yesterday:

While it's a shame it has taken this long to remove such a violation of Constitutional freedom, it's a greater shame that such a registry was ever created in the first place.

GRNC Threatens Lawsuit Over State Fair Gun Ban
Grass Roots North Carolina, the Old North State's leading firearms advocacy group, is threatening a lawsuit over the current "No Guns" policy at the NC state fairgrounds. With the new expansive gun rights package now in effect in North Carolina, many pro gun rights groups are stating that the restrictive policies in place at the Fairgrounds should change in respect to the new laws.
But NC Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler told Guns.Com this:
"Our policy at the State Fair has always been not to allow weapons at the fair. It is our intention to continue that policy until we are instructed by a judge or the legislature to do otherwise. In my mind, as a supporter of the 2nd Amendment, as a gun owner, and a grandfather, I believe the mix of kids, guns, rides, and large crowds is a bad idea."
Troxler went on to say that he believes there is enough gray area in the new laws to allow him to continue to prohibit the possession of firearms on the state fairground property without being in violation of the new laws, according to him, "erring on the side of public safety."
GNRC's president Paul Valone said that Commissioner Troxler is choosing to violate the rights of lawfully-permitted concealed carry handgun owners not just inside the fair but in the parking lot as well, within their own personal vehicles. Valone said that his group will be seeking an injunction against Troxler and the Fairground's policies.
Valone said,
"As we have seen time and again, gun free zones are dangerous places for law abiding citizens. No family should be rendered entirely helpless should an event occur such as what happened at the Wisconsin State Fair in 2011."
The incident Valone is referring to was when a group of teenagers and young adults began randomly attacking patrons, resulting in 11 injuries and 31 arrests.
He went on to say that criminals use the disadvantage of being disarmed against law abiding citizens.
It makes for easier prey.
There is certain to be much more discussion on this subject in the coming days, with the Fair set to kick off on October 16.
The last four years of the fair, attendance has been approximately 1 million people during the week-long event..
We will keep you informed on any developments.

HOW GUN CONTROL MADE ENGLAND THE 'MOST VIOLENT COUNTRY IN EUROPE'
Yesterday we linked to the Military Arms Channel article from Phil, a French expatriate living in Texas, who talks about French gun control and gun rights in general.
Now from Breitbart, an article on British gun control and the effects it had on crime in the UK.
Take a look at this segment of the article:"In 2009, twelve years after the Firearms Act of 1997 was passed, Daily Mail Online reported that Britain was "the most violent country in Europe." They also reported that Britain's home figures showed "the UK [had] a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and South Africa."

A French Expatriate Talks About Newfound American Freedom, and Crazy French Gun Laws
MAC from the Military Arms Channel posted a great article from Phil, a former French soldier now living in Texas, enjoying his new found Second Amendment rights as an American Citizen,
Phil also discusses the history of French gun ownership as well as French gun law and gun control.
What does Phil think about gun control efforts?
"Gun laws don’t increase safety, don’t reduce violent crime, don’t reduce homicide per firearms, etc… Gun control is about controlling people. And registration lead with any doubt to confiscation, regardless if it’s done overnight or slowly over several decades like in France. "

Photo of the Day: AR Pistol Mania
Short, Compact, slick, and just plain fun to shoot. AR pattern pistols are becoming the rage as of late, since the ATF gave the green light to the now famous "Arm Brace", particularly the SIG Arms brand Arm Brace as seen in the photo above.
The ATF states that since it is by definition, NOT a stock, the weapon is still a pistol, and not a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR) which requires registry and a $200 Tax Stamp.
This statement has caused an explosion of AR-15 pistol sales, as well as AK style pistols with a similar device. While I love the fact that these weapons are becoming more prevalent, and that it has been given the ATF's so-called "blessing", it goes to prove just how stupid the Bureau's view of Short Barreled Rifles is.
AR Pistol with Arm Brace : Perfectly legal to own, perfectly legal to install arm brace, perfectly legal to shoulder the arm brace as a stock.
Short barreled AR with a stock: Major Felony if not registered and Tax Stamp paid.
Another example of the stupidity of Big Government.Monday, September 15, 2014
Houston TX Shopkeeper Kills Armed Robber, Now Robber's Family Sending Death Threats
Usman Seth (standing) shoots and kills armed robber who threatened his family with a shotgun
This past Friday night around 10PM, a man armed with a shotgun entered a Houston TX, convenience store demanding money from the register. The store owner's daughter was behind the counter when the man pointed the weapon at her. Her brother, 20 year old Usman Seth, who also works at the convenience store, acted to remove the threat.
Usman's father handed him a 9mm Smith and Wesson handgun, and he shot the robber in the leg. This did not immediately stop the suspect, who, while hopping around the store, returned fire. Usman then engaged the man again, This time, his shots were successful in not only neutralizing the threat, but also in saving the Texas taxpayers the expense of a trial and the eventual upkeep of another prisoner.
After dropping the thug for good, Seth noticed that the robber was a man who had been in the store earlier that evening, obviously casing the store.(some local news outlets are reporting 2 accomplices who are both being detained and questioned by authorities)
Clearly a case of self defense, Seth told local reporters that his family, their lives, were in his hands and he had to protect them.
Guy tries to rob store, store clerk shoots him. Family is safe, and other than the eventual cleanup, its over and done with.
That should be all there is to it right? Well, apparently, the relatives of the armed robber are now threatening Seth and his family. Saturday, a man claiming to be the robber's brother came in to the store and vowed to take revenge for his killing.
Other reports of death threats being called in to the store have been suggested on social media as well.
We live in a society where no one thinks they are responsible for their own actions. Usman Seth should not and can not be blamed for the death of this man. He made a conscious decision to take that shotgun into the store and try to rob it. He wasn't willing to work for a living like law abiding citizens. He wanted it fast, and wanted to take it from someone else, exemplifying the arrogant self centered attitude of so many people these days .
And just like the old saying goes, he reaps what he sows.
I can understand a family's grief over losing a loved one, but that's his choice. If they blame the store owners for it and threaten them, then they are no better than the POS laying on a slab in the County Morgue.
I call it as I see it.
Keep calm and carry loaded.

Sage Dynamics Gives Us A Reality Check About Situational Awareness.
We're all guilty of it. In this hustle and bustle society we now live in, we've all been known to "zone out" so to speak, when we're at the mall, or on lunch, waiting in line, wherever. With the rise of smartphones, and the new "second language" known as texting we are constantly checking out and losing track of our surroundings. You've probably seen the video on YouTube of the young lady walking and texting through the mall, only to fall head first into the water fountain. All this is humorous, but in today's world of active shooters, terrorism, riots, what have you, you cannot afford to be that "out of it".
The excellent guys over at Sage Dynamics, have posted a great article about situational awareness, and why we need to put the phones down for a second, and OBSERVE.

GRNC: Durham County Sheriff Maintains Illegal and Unconstitutional Gun Registry
Over in Durham County, Sheriff Micheal Matthews is maintaining the illegal firearms registry, despite the repeal of an unconstitutional law that allowed the Durham County authorities to maintain a handgun registry. The law itself has roots in racist, anti-black, Jim Crow laws.
Originally designed to keep the black citizens of the county from being able to own a firearm.
Grass Roots North Carolina tells us more:

Armed Homeowner Shoots and Kills Intruder in Person County
Early Sunday morning in the community of Timberlake in Person County, NC, a masked man with a shotgun broke into an occupied home and demanded money.
The homeowner fired his handgun which he kept beside his bed, striking the shotgun, the resulting ricochet struck the intruder, 25 year old Jonathan Ziminack , in the stomach.
Ziminack was transported to the hospital where he subsequently died on the way to emergency surgery.
Person County Sheriff Dewey Jones stated that Ziminack's girlfriend, Alicia Bowling was stopped by patrol deputies and charged with conspiracy to commit first degree burglary .
She is being held in the Person County Jail under a $75,000 bond.
(20 year old Alicia Bowling, is being held in the Person County Jail.
Her boyfriend is being stored at the Morgue.)
Her boyfriend is being stored at the Morgue.)
They are considering charging her with an additional 2 charges, first degree burglary and attempted armed robbery.
The name of the homeowner has not been released and as of the posting of this article, no charges are expected to be filed against the homeowner.
Yet another example of why being armed and vigilant is so important.
I have always been taught to never go out looking for trouble. But sometimes trouble comes looking for you. In those cases, it would be a good idea to be prepared for such occasions.

Image of the Day: "Behind Every Blade Of Grass"
There is a quote often attributed to Admiral Yamamoto of the Japanese Navy during World War II.It is said that the Admiral told his constituents that an invasion of the United States mainland would be a massacre for them because there is a gun behind every blade of grass in America. ( some question the validity of the quote but it makes an excellent point regardless)
While I cannot speak for every blade of grass, I would dare say that the quote is probably accurate when it comes to Randolph County. Considering we were ranked 9th in the nation for gun ownership on a countywide basis.

Keep Calm & Carry Loaded: Hardee's In Burlington Robbed, Customers Held At Gunpoint
Yet another reason to carry your weapon, and be trained and ready to use it.
This morning (Saturday Sept.6) at around 7AM, 2 men entered the Hardee's at 2756 Alamance Road in Burlington NC, demanding money at gunpoint.
Along with robbing the restaurant, they also robbed several customers who were in the dining area.
No one was injured according to police reports.
According to Burlington Police, both suspects are black males with dark complexions, approximately 20-30 years of age. They fled in a burgundy Dodge Durango, on Alamance Road headed north.
Their faces were covered in bandannas, which will make identifying them more difficult.
The criminal elements of our communities are growing bolder with every passing day.
Imagine if these thugs were a bit more sadistic, what they might have done to the patrons.
Imagine if one of the patrons were armed, and trained properly...these 2 pieces of trash would be nothing but a footnote in some coroners report.
We will keep you posted if there are any more developments.
Remember, keep your head on a swivel. If they look suspicious, there's probably a reason for it.

Randolph County Is Most Heavily Armed State in NC, Ranked 9th Nationwide According to Latest Data
It looks like our little county in the geographical center of NC is also the core of firearms ownership in the state, as well as being ranked 9th nationwide in gun ownership is comparison with all the other counties, parishes, and municipalities within the states of the US.
The map above is based on a recent City Data listing of the top 101 counties in the US for gun ownership. Randolph County hit the list at 9th with just over 51% of our county's population owning firearms, (according to public record). According to the 2010 US Census, our county population is approx. 141,752. That means about 70,800 approx. are armed.
Then consider those who have no record of the ownership listed anywhere in the public record, and that bumps the number up considerably. My guess would be about 15-20% more.
That's a lot of armed men and women in our county.
Surprisingly, not one county in Texas made the list, the first one to even break the surface was Harris, which came in at 73rd, with only 30% of the population with gun ownership.
The best state in show, was Louisiana, with 6 of its parishes on the list. (Louisiana is divided into Parishes, not counties, due to it's origins in the old French system).
#1 nationwide? Well that goes to the borough of Fairbanks in Alaska with over 59% of the population.

My Response To One of the Faceless Mob: In Regards To The Ferguson Riots
Unless you've been under a rock for the last 2 weeks and don't keep up with the news at all, you're well aware of the riots and looting that are occurring in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, Missouri.
After the local police shot and killed black teenager Mike Brown, the local population took to the streets to protest. The problem was, many didn't stop with peaceable protest. Many began to burn local businesses, to steal, to assault, to loot, pillage, and generally be a bunch of assholes.
I have refrained upon making a decision on the shooting itself, until every piece of evidence has been put forth into the clear light of day. However, my primary concern has been the law abiding citizens and business owners of Ferguson who, after seeing that no help was coming, were forced to arm themselves to defend their homes and businesses.
One particular image that caught my eye this weekend, was the photo of a store owner (or clerk, it was not clear on what his position at the business was) as seen above, along with his co-workers, or various color and creed, defending their property with various rifles, from the AK to the AR15.
After posting above images to another one of our media outlets, I received an email from an individual who apparently was trying to connect the business owners with supposed racist tactics of the local authorities.
Here is the email I received:
"The problem with you gun nuts is the young man was shot for being black, when he had done nothing wrong. What do you value your soul? Its funny how a white guy can kill everyone in a movie theater , all those dead babies, but an unarmed black guy gets shot 50 times. Explain this under your little 2nd Amendment? You nuts should be ashamed. The only reason you got all the guns is so you can kill people of color. Explain yourself please.
Sincerely,
xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxx"
I had to read the email about 4 times, simply to try to find some correlation between the Mike Brown shooting and gun owners, but I found the email to be nonsense, complete gibberish, and the rantings of a leftist goon. But I decided to reply, against my better judgement, and so here I present to you, my retort:
"I am not under any obligation to explain anything to anyone, especially not a complete stranger on the internet who sees fit to question my opinions, but for the sake of politeness and proper discourse I will say this:
"I am not under any obligation to explain anything to anyone, especially not a complete stranger on the internet who sees fit to question my opinions, but for the sake of politeness and proper discourse I will say this:
The 2nd Amendment exists to protect the individual for the collective tyranny of the government, i.e. Federal or even local...or against a blood lusting mob with a burn-it-all mentality. Has the reaction of the Ferguson Police been improper? I could see where the protesters may be correct in that regard, perhaps that is an example of the local tyranny I spoke of, (but I will NOT make a final decision on that until all evidence has been put forth), . But the equally incorrect response of the crowd is the burning and pillaging that seems to be running rampant. Store owners who have done nothing wrong, having their businesses destroyed by individuals who do not care about justice for the young man who was shot, rather, they are there to steal, rob, kill,& loot. Those shop owners are forced to defend themselves and their property, against the mob mentality, because the police have now let them down as well. Do you mean to tell me that the property owners of Ferguson, who have worked hard to build what little they have, are racist and bigoted for trying to stop looters and criminals from destroying it all? There has to be a fail-safe against tyranny, as well as against mob rule.
That, my good man, is why the 2nd amendment is so absolutely important. I'm not here to argue correlation between what happened in that movie theater in Colorado several years ago and this incident in Ferguson Missouri, because there is NONE, in any way, shape, or form. Obviously you are trying to bait me into some sort of morality boxing match, in which you are neither properly trained or equipped. Your supposed talking points are unrelated, and barely relevant.
The 2nd amendment is literal, it is absolute, and it is most certainly for the defense of the individual. It exists for the defense of black & white equally, and is not race specific.. If anything, the Second Amendment should be of absolute importance to the black community, for the defense of their right to freedom and equality. So to try to turn the 2nd amendment into some sort of tool of racism is nonsense. Remember this, many of the racist Jim Crow laws were designed to disarm the African American population in direct violation of their basic fundamental rights. Any law abiding citizen who has an open concern for their freedom and liberty regardless of creed or color should arm themselves, and search out the training and ability to use these weapons. For the safety of their nation and the safety of their people .
I for one will never relinquish my right to keep and bear arms simply to satisfy the whims of politically correct collectivist apologists. I will carry the standard of individual freedom with me, ALL DAMN DAY.
My suggestion to you sir, is to read your history, REAL history, and for the love of God, for once in your life, use a little bit of common sense. I have found that trying new things is a journey of self discovery. "
I have yet to receive a reply.
MOLON LABE.

Break Into A Home, Get Shot. It's Really As Simple As That
80 year old homeowner Tom Greer
This was not the first burglary that Mr. Tom Greer had experienced. After suffering a beating at the hands of this pair of thugs, And fearing for his safety, Mr. Greer retrieved his .22 Caliber Smith and Wesson revolver and opened fire as they tried to flee the scene. Before fleeing, the female claimed she was pregnant, (which has not yet been confirmed as fact), but Mr. Greer. Some have claimed that Mr. Greer's actions make him a murderer, having shot her in mid retreat, and due to the fact she claims she was pregnant.
repeat criminals Andrea Miller and Gus Adams
All these claims, I find to be a moot point.
If she and her male accomplice had not made the conscious decision to break into an occupied home of an elderly man, whom they beat so they could ransack his home, forcing him to open fire on them, she would still be alive today. If she was indeed pregnant, what kind of monster puts her unborn child in that manner of harm's way?
Well, Apparently Miller's male accomplice, Gus Adams, has been charged with her murder, as Bob Owens over at BearingArms.Com reports.

Gaston County PD Threatens Gun Owner With Confiscation For Supposed Ordinance Violation
We received a report from one of our friends and comrades about an incident he experienced this past weekend with the Gaston County Police Department. (North Carolina)
Since the complaint is still pending, we will not post his name for his own sake. We felt this should be shared because the facts of this incident are concerning not only in regards to gun rights but property rights in general.
On Sunday June 15, the subject of this incident (who we will refer to here as "John") was sighting in the scope on his rifle behind his home on his own property. He began his session at around 1:00PM approximately.
Taking his time to properly sight in the optic, he continued on into the afternoon until about 3:45PM. At this time he heard shouting , and turned to see a Gaston County PD officer standing at the edge of the wooded property. The officer had his hand at a ready position to draw a weapon, which to be fair is probably standard procedure when responding to a firearms related call.
"John" carefully and cautiously placed the rifle on the ground and in accordance to law, informed the officer that he was a Concealed Carry Permit holder.
The officer seemed to ignore him, either because he didn't care or it was not a concern of his.
The officer was overly aggressive, and told John that a neighbor had called in a report of a lot of gunfire, and there was a county ordinance in Gaston Co. restricting the discharging of a firearm within 500 feet of an occupied dwelling, including one's own.
He informed John that he was not allowed to target shoot on his property and could only do so at a range. John told the officer that he was not aware of the ordinance, but he was beyond 500 feet from his or anyone else's residence. The officer became extremely agitated and then began questioning why he was shooting and what he was shooting at. John told the officer he was simply trying to zero in the scope on his rifle, which seemed to displease the officer a great deal.
According to John, at no time did he establish himself as any kind of threat to the officer, if anything John may have been quite submissive to the officer's demands.
This is the most concerning part:
At this point the officer said:
"THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO. You are going to stop shooting right now. And if I have to come back out here, I WILL CHARGE YOU AND I WILL CONFISCATE YOUR FIREARMS."
So let's recap this. A neighbor well out of range of the 500 feet limit calls the "County Police" on John, Officer shows up and tells John he is in violation of an ordinance when in fact, John is well within the limits of the law. Officer gets agitated when John points this out, and then threatens his person and his property with State sponsored aggression to prove his point.
At no time was John rude, obstructive or belligerent with the officer. In fact, John's politeness and calm demeanor seemed to irritate the officer more.
I spoke with John last night and he has this to say:
"The last thing disturbs me more than anything in this encounter .and it should for
anyone who would hear such a thing. “…I will come back, charge you, and
confiscate your firearms.” That’s chilling. It also seemed designed to elicit a response
because many firearms owners usually would get angry at hearing that, and they
should, but that was not the time to do so. Is aggressive and threatening behavior
standard protocol for Gaston Police? To confiscate firearms because of a little noise,
and an ordinance I wasn't aware existed? Is that the proper response for this
situation? Are you telling me that a neighbor can complain about a noise, one time,
and then my property is stolen and my rights taken away? If this is standard
procedure for Gaston County Police then I need to be aware of it. Gaston County
citizens need to be aware of it. North Carolina citizens need to be aware of it. There
was no call for that officer to behave in this manner whatsoever. This is a disturbing trend in Law Enforcement as of late.
This desire to confiscate the weapons of law abiding citizens. We have seen evidence of this in Connecticut, and New York
State. There is NO place for it here in the Old North State. We will keep you informed of what comes of this incident.

News and Observer Reporter With Anti-Gun Views May Have Committed Gun Crime, GRNC Says
This report from Grassroots North Carolina :

The N&O’s Gun-Totin’ Action Hero
In his May 28 News & Observer (N&O) column, anti-gun writer Barry Saunders refers to pro-gun-freedom Facebook commenters as “Hopalong Cassidy wannabes” and “Quick Draw McRib[s].” Yes, ol’ Barry sees all them stoopid, gun-totin’ rednecks as wannabe action heroes with more ammo than sense. Of course, these absurd caricatures that Saunders has floating around his head are exactly that—absurd caricatures. If Barry wants to track down a real gun-totin’ action hero wannabe, he may not have to look very far. In this very same column, Saunders writes of an incident that suggests that he himself may be guilty of a gun crime.
Shootout at the Saunders Corral
Saunders’ misguided column about how scary a soccer mom with a .380 can be does have one very important take-away:
Anti-gun Barry, who it turns out actually owns a gun, may have confessed to engaging in the dangerous and illegal behavior that he consistently forecasts others will engage in. In his May 28 column, while telling of his own experience finding a burglar in his home, Barry shamelessly admits the following:
Anti-gun Barry, who it turns out actually owns a gun, may have confessed to engaging in the dangerous and illegal behavior that he consistently forecasts others will engage in. In his May 28 column, while telling of his own experience finding a burglar in his home, Barry shamelessly admits the following:
“Fortunately for [the burglar], by the time I threw him out, ran back upstairs to get my gun and went looking for him, I saw a Durham cop who took his description and sent my ridiculous self home.”
|
Yes, you read that right. According to his own words, Saunders first saw the burglar flee his home. Then, instead of locking the door and waiting for the police, he ran upstairs to get his gun, and then went outside to look for the burglar. Had it not been for the police arriving in time to get between Barry and the fleeing man, Barry’s own street may have run red with blood. Whose life or limb would Barry have been defending?
Barry Saunders’ horrific visions of citizens carrying guns are clear cases of psychological projection. Prophecy of shootouts over fender benders and drive-thru murders over condiment errors are likely the columnist’s own imaginings of how he, in his own undisciplined and sporadic ways, might react to such things. Saunders may not understand that most people do not live in such erratic self-indulgence, and they would never react in such horrific fashion to life’s inconveniences and aggravations.
According to his own statement, Barry Saunders may indeed react in this sort of irrational and undisciplined manner. True, finding a burglar in one’s home is no small thing (a bit more than an aggravation). However, seeing him flee your home, and then meditatively retrieving a gun in order to go outside and chase him down is not only irrational, it’s likely illegal. Threatening the use of a gun against a person who is not an immediate threat to you is against the law, and if Barry had shot the man before the police arrived to cut the hunt short, neither the “Castle Doctrine,” nor “Stand Your Ground,” laws that Barry almost surely hates, would offer him legal protection.

Saunders Must Go
Is it sensible for the N&O to employ an anti-gun columnist who demands one thing, admits to doing the opposite, and then boasts about his hypocrisy? Like the Carl T. Rowan story, are we seeing another case where an “elite” few see themselves as above the law, while impugning the character of the rest of us? Enough is enough. Confessed hypocrite and, according to his own words, possible gun-criminal, Barry Saunders, should not be the anti-gun voice of the N&O.
Below, find out how you can get in touch with the N&O, and tell them that you’ve taken all of the insults you can stand from Barry Saunders. Tell them you don’t appreciate being preached to about guns by self-professed gun-toting man-hunter, Barry Saunders. Insist that N&O management show Barry Saunders the door (but you might advise them to stay behind cover when they do it).

Durham NC's Racist Jim Crow Gun Registry Persists To This Day
Here in the Tarheel State, we have no such thing as a state wide gun registry, and as long as we stay vigilant and fight tooth and nail, we never will. But what many of you may not realize is that Durham County NC does in fact have a gun registry, and as Grassroots North Carolina reports, it's been in place since the dark days of the Jim Crow laws, as a way to selectively enforce gun control on the African American population. Today, it has been utilized by the anti-gun elites as a tool of control over the populace.
From Grassroots NC:
From Grassroots NC:
"Most North Carolinians know that this state doesn't have a gun registry. What many North Carolinians don't know is that Durham County does have a gun registry; a throwback to racist Jim Crow laws that once plagued our great state.
In 1935 the State Legislature bowed to pressure from local officials and granted Durham County an exception to its rule against gun registries in the state. Durham County's gun registry was another way for the county sheriff to capriciously and discriminately criminalize certain law-abiding citizens.
This law is so recklessly worded that you could be charged with a misdemeanor offense for passing through Durham County with an unregistered firearm! Of course, back in the day this was selectively enforced; we'll leave it to you to imagine how.
This racist law persists to this day, and responsible law-abiding gun owners in Durham County are still required to go to the courthouse and surrender information about their lawfully-owned firearms—firearms that are nobody else's business, and firearms that the other ninety-nine counties in North Carolina have no need to know about.
North Carolina Senate Bill 226 was introduced by North Carolina Senator Mike Woodard in 2013 to repeal Durham's racist gun registry and bring it into the 21st century. Grassroots North Carolina would like to thank Rules Chair Rep. Tim Moore and Rep. Thom Tillis for agreeing to move this bill through the house in this summer's short session, to help ensure that Durham County's law-abiding citizens don't continue to be treated like criminals.
We're asking you to contact Representatives Moore and Tillis to thank them for agreeing to move swiftly on Senate Bill 226."
This kind of nonsense reveals the racist, elitist history of the anti-gunner and the leftists. It's time such laws were stricken from the books,

NC Eatery Posts "NO GUNS" Signs, Then Gets Robbed. Customers Choke On The Irony
.
Durham NC, is a cesspool of Leftist Anti-Gun ideology. so this sort of thing shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Yet when something like this occurs it makes us all take notice.
The website "Guns N' Freedom" , reported that Sunday night at "The Pit Authentic Barbecue",
3 suspects entered the establishment through a back entrance and while brandishing handguns, forced the staff onto the floor while robbing the joint.
Strangely enough the criminals completely ignored the "No Guns"/ "No Concealed Handguns" sign on the door. Why would they do such a thing? Criminals, breaking the law....what's the world coming to.
Some of you might recall that "The Pit" is the same NC restaurant to hosted Gabby Giffords' anti-gun shindig last year, while on her tour of the US pushing disarmament.

Got Gun Related Vehicle Decals? Thieves May Be Targeting You
If you are like so many other gun owners out there, you are loud and proud of your 2nd Amendment rights and the fact that you exercise them. But with a recent trend here in North Carolina, you might want to consider being a bit more off the grid about advertising your weapons.
A few weeks ago in Charlotte NC, the Metro Police's University Division arrested a group of individuals who are suspected of breaking into vehicles specifically in search of firearms.
They looked for vehicles with firearm related decals, which were more likely to have a weapon stored inside.
There are reports of thieves with similar methods of operation, lurking around gun shops and ranges, knowing there will be plenty of targets for thievery . CMPD says that criminals are also targeting vehicles parked in places where concealed carry is not allowed.
The CCP holder leaves his gun in the vehicle, usually sticking it under the seat. In a matter of a few moments, a thief identifies their vehicle, and breaks in. Goodbye to your sidearm.
I am as bad as the next guy, I enjoy the swag that a lot of gun companies send with their product.
But maybe the decals are better suited for your rifle case, tool box, or cabinet.
In these crazy days, we can't afford to lose our weapons to a thieving crack head.
We have to start thinking like the "gray man".
Blend in. You don't have to flaunt it, to know you got it.

Vance County NC Homeowner Uses AR-15 For Self Defense During Home Invasion
The AR-15 Rifle. Image by Oleg Volk
Score one for the good guys:
Up in Vance County, Jonathan Haith was sound asleep in his home on Thomas Lane, when he heard someone knocking on his door at 9:45 a.m. , Haith ignored it and went back to sleep.
After about 15 minutes, there was a loud thud noise as 23 year old Gregory Johnson kicked in the door and entered the residence.
suspect Gregory Johnson
Haith retrieved his semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, and crept into his hallway, where Johnson was standing with a 9mm handgun.
Johnson fired at Haith, who returned fire, striking Johnson in the stomach and shoulder.
Haith was not hit by Johnson's initial shot.
Johnson ran from the residence and later collapsed in the parking lot of a daycare down the street.
Johnson apparently had an accomplice who sped out of Haith's yard in a getaway car, clearly not wanting any of what his fellow scumbag had just been a partaker of, and retrieving Johnson and taking him to the local hospital.
Nothing was taken from the home, and no charges have been filed against Haith.
A clear cut case of self defense.
While many of us might grab a shotgun or a pistol when and if we hear someone in our home, that doesn't mean we should dismiss the AR-15 as a candidate for bump-in-the-night duty.

New Jersey Set to Ban .22 Rifles As Anti-Gun Madness Sweeps the North
Thus far, May has not been a good month for gun owners and Patriots throughout America.
Here in North Carolina, we had our Primary elections on May 6, and a number of the true Patriot minded candidates were defeated by centrists and establishment goons.
And now this piece of news regarding our Patriot brothers and sisters caught behind enemy lines in New Jersey.
On May 5th, New Jersey's Senate Law and Public Safety Committee passed SB 993, which bans detachable magazines holding more than 10 rounds, and .22 rifles (along with other rifles), with fixed magazines holding more than 10 rounds. The bill passed by a 3 to 2 vote, 3 Democrats to 2 Republicans.
This ban will outlaw 43 different weapons, including the Marlin 60, the Remington Nylon 66, and the Winchester 190, all very popular small game hunting rifles. What this has done is solidify the fact that gun grabbers aren't just after the so called "Assault weapons" they want to ban ALL guns. That should wake up some of the Elmer Fudd hunters who sit quietly while the rest of us are terrorized just because our taste in firearms doesn't sit well with them.
New Jersey hasn't exactly been a friendly state to the gun owners of America,
Just look up the terrible tale of Brian Aitken, and the nightmare he went through in the Garden State.
Also, keep in mind that just because they have a Republican governor, don't count on him to veto it.
Chris Christie is anti-gun and anti-liberty, the "R" beside his name notwithstanding.
Time to wake up, people. They're coming for us. That's a fact.

GRNC Proves Forsyth Sheriff Violated Law
Our friends over in Forsyth County will be going to the polls to decide on the office of Sheriff, and if you have any question about their current Sheriff's position on Concealed Carry Permits, this Press Release from Grassroots North Carolina should answer a few for you.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Press Contact: 704.907.9206
E-mail: President@GRNC.org
Release date: April 29, 2014
The GRNC Political Victory Fund supports David Griffith for Forsyth County Sheriff because incumbent William T. Schatzman is one of a number of sheriffs around the state who have unlawfully imposed extra requirements on concealed handgun permit (CHP) applicants in violation of N.C.G.S. 14-415.4, which stipulates a standardized statewide application process.
Recently, a member of the "Sheriff's Citizens Patrol" responded to a GRNC-PVF mailing by distributing a letter (http://grnc.org/documents/Miller_Letter_Schatzman.pdf) which accuses GRNC of perpetrating a "flat out falsehood" when it said Schatzman demanded employer information from CHP applicants in violation of the law.
Accordingly, GRNC has now published all documents related to Schatzman's law-breaking, including the original form demanding employment information as well as the newer "voluntary" employment information form which replaced it only after a GRNC alert targeting Schatzman at: http://grnc.org/schatzmanviolateslaw
Statement from GRNC president Paul Valone:
"Recently, we've received dozens of complaints about sheriffs who violate the law by obstructing concealed handgun permit applications. The GRNC Political Victory Fund action against Forsyth County Sheriff William Schatzman is intended to deliver a message that when it comes the re-election prospects of sheriffs who break the law, there is a new sheriff in town."
Timeline of GRNC response to complaints about Schatzman:
August, 2011: GRNC receives member complaint received Forsyth County is requiring concealed handgun permit applicants to provide full employer information, including the name, address and phone number of the applicant's employer.
September 1, 2011: GRNC president Paul Valone sends fax to Sheriff Schatzman, including the employment form printed from the Forsyth County Sheriff Office (FCSO) website, notifying him of his non-compliance with N.C.G.S. 14-415.4.
September 8, 2011: Valone speaks at length with Davida Martin of the Forsyth County legal counsel's office, who directed him to Kevin McGuckin. Valone then leaves detailed message for McGuckin.
September 21, 2011: After both fax and phone message are ignored by FCSO (the former for 20 days), Valone again phones McGuckin, this time reaching him at 3:00 PM. When apprised of the situation, McGuckin replies “We’ll take that under advisement.” When Valone explains that failure to remove the form will result in legal action, McGuckin says, “Goodbye” and hangs up.
September 22, 2011: GRNC issues alert targeting Schatzman for requiring employment information:http://www.grnc.org/grnc-alerts-archive/...of-gun-law
September 27, 2011: GRNC board member advises Valone that the link for the employment form is still on FCSO website. However, when Valone checks the site he discovers that a new form has been placed there without notice. The new form does not require name of employer and clearly says that providing the information is "voluntary."
September 28, 2011: GRNC issues update to members noting that FCSO has complied with the letter (but not the spirit) of the law: http://www.grnc.org/defend-your-rights/r...f-complies
March 1, 2012: GRNC issues alert targeting Schatzman for placing arbitrary time limits on required training for CHPs in violation of state law:http://www.grnc.org/grnc-alerts-archive/...ate-nc-law
Description of documents provided at link above:
· Sept. 1, 2011 notification letter from Valone to Schatzman
· Fax transmission report for notification letter
· Original Forsyth employment form
· Sept. 8, 2011 email exchange about message left for McGuckin
· Sept. 27, 2011 email from GRNC board member noting that form still on FCSO website
· Sept. 27, 2011 email from Valone to GRNC board member noting that form had been changed to reflect "voluntary"
Additional obstructions to CHP applications
The "Sheriff's Citizens Patrol" writer also claimed the GRNC-PVF mailing against Schatzman was incorrect in saying that FCSO obstructed issuance of CHPs, however:
· Even the writer admitted that FCSO shortened the time of day in which it processed CHP applications from a full business day to the period 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM while most other departments place no such limits.
· On March 1, 2012, GRNC issued an alert after receiving complaints that Schatzman was placing an arbitrary "expiration date" on training courses required to obtain permits, even though state law has no such limit under N.C.G.S. 14-415.12 -- another clear violation of law. This alert is available at:http://www.grnc.org/grnc-alerts-archive/...ate-nc-law
Summary
The documentation above clearly demonstrates that Sheriff William Schatzman first violated state law by requiring concealed handgun permit applicants to supply potentially intimidating employer information, including contact information for employers, then stonewalled when notified of the department's non-compliance. Telephone contacts to the Schatzman's legal representatives were met with hostility, including hanging up on GRNC president Paul Valone. Only after an alert directed hundreds of contacts to Schatzman did the department grudgingly comply be replacing the form with one which indicates completion is "voluntary."
Schatzman continued to obstruct concealed handgun permit issuance, however, first by restricting permit applications to only three hours per day, then by refusing to accept valid training certificates from applicants. Grass Roots North Carolina stands by all of the statements about Schatzman made in the GRNC Political Victory Fund mailings and emails sent to Forsyth County voters.
